A Japanese garden outside Moscow sounds like a stage set — right up to the moment you see who is building it and how.
What the garden is made of
Features of a Japanese garden
Every feature has a name, a meaning and a story of how it came to be.

The tsukubai at the entrance
A stone basin for washing in the entrance area. The first finished feature of the park.

The dry waterfall of the carp and the dragon
A waterfall without water, laid in three days under the guidance of the Japanese master Hiromi Hoshi.

The Beginning garden
A “garden in a bowl” in front of the stage: a model of the universe made of stone, water and paving. The concept is by Irina Andrianova.

The Yugenbaku waterfall
Five metres high, about a hundred tonnes of stone and nine days of work led by Hiromi Hoshi.

Horai island
The island of eternity is the most enduring motif of the Japanese garden. The stones were set by the team of the Tree Architects Club.
A Japanese garden begins with the people who make it.
